From the Versace family, to the House of Gucci, to the band of brothers behind both Jordache and Guess Jeans empires, fashion design and manufacturing has often been a family affair. baby belbol, the international infant clothiers, follows in this industry tradition with a father/daughter team with more than six decades of experience in the clothing business. And although fashion sense may indeed be in the genes, at baby belbol, we believe that “style begins at birth.”
Vicky Sakal, founder of baby belbol, literally grew up in the clothing business. A native of Barcelona, Spain, Vicky “got her start” in the industry at a very young age helping her picking fabrics and modeling clothes for her father Ezekiel Sakal, a successful European clothier in the children apparel industry since age 17. She credits him for “everything she knows about business and the clothing industry.”
In the late 1980’s she worked for an importer of French and Italian women’s apparel while attending university. After earning her Masters degree in Marketing and International Business, she rejoined her father and working
various jobs in his international apparel company.
In 1993 Vicky married an American, moved to the US and eventually began her own family. It was during this period in her life that she recognized the lack of
availability of the high quality, highly stylized, yet affordable children’s apparel in the US that she had worn in her own youth and later helped produced as a young adult…and the concept for baby belbol was born.
After years of planning, designing and a lot of hard work, mixed with Vicky’s passion for fashion and creativity and her father’s business acumen, 2005 saw the launch of the first line of baby belbol international infant wear.
